HOW TO MAP A HOSTED DOMAIN NAME TO BLOGSPOT BLOG
STEP 1 - log in to your blogger account.
STEP 2 - click on the name of you blog you wish to map a hosted domain to.
STEP 3 - From the menu on the left click settings
STEP 4 - Under publishing click custom domain
STEP 5 - In the publishing section type the URL of the domain you have purchased (www.donmedia.co.ke) and click on the save button.
Once the page refreshes, you will see two CNAME RECORDS which should be created in your domains host records. The CNAME RECORDS looks like this:
Name - WWW
DESTINATION:ghs.google.com
NAME:abcdx44IIIZZ
DESTINATION: gv-graxx065.cv.googlehosted.com
For your information the records above are only a sample. They are different for each blogger and specific to you blog and your Goole account.
STEP 6 - Login to your client area and click on domains then manage DNS.
STEP 7 - Click on add new zone. Imput your domain name without "www" in the fieldfor Zone name.
STEP 8 - Input this IP address (174.129.25.170) in the IP address field.
STEP 9 - Click on the edit icon on the row that begins with (www) replace your domain name with (ghs.google.com) scroll down and Click save.
STEP 10 - scroll up and click on (add record) copy and paste the shorter CNAME in the (name field) example (abcdx44IIIZZ)
STEP 11 - Click on the drop-down and choose CNAME as your record type.
STEP 12 - The TTL is 14400
STEP 13 - Then copy and paste the longer CNAMY Example (gv-graxx065.dv.googlehosted.com) in the RDATA.
STEP 14 - Click on add record
STEP 15 -You will need to wait for about 3 hours for the DNS changes to be updated. Then go back to your blogger account on the same pages where the CNAME RECORDS were generated aHOW TO MAP A HOSTED DOMAIN NAME TO BLOGSPOT BLOG
